A warm welcome to our website where you will find out about life at our vibrant, caring primary school. We are committed to providing all children with a first class educational experience and we await our next Ofsted inspection to reflect this commitment.
It is a place where ‘every child matters’ can really be seen in action. We believe not only in striving towards high academic standards, but lifelong learning for personal growth; an ethos that is brought to the pupils through dedicated staff and Governors and a commitment to support each child as they journey through our primary school.
At Burlescombe we create an environment in which all children feel safe, valued and are nurtured. We provide a curriculum which is challenging, stimulating and creative; one that inspires children to want to learn, so that they are able to become responsible, independent thinkers and learners.
We offer children opportunities to explore languages and cultures, we encourage their appreciation and participation of the creative and performing arts and help them to become proficient using arrange of information technology.
We are a healthy and active school community, competing in a range of sporting arenas and where effort and achievement are celebrated by all. If you visit our school, you will be aware of a sense of purposeful calm, of children happy in their work and play.
You are welcome to telephone, e-mail or come and visit us for yourself; I am sure the children would be delighted to show you what makes Burlescombe such a special place.
We belong to a special partnership called The Valley Partnership which is a Federation of two small, rural village primary schools in the heart of the beautiful countryside; Webber’s Church of England Primary school is our sister school, only 3 miles away. We work together in many spheres to offer even wider learning opportunities and even more friends!
We look forward to meeting you soon.
